The envelope was forwarded several times until the final destination was reached and marked "Deceased" and
stamped "Return to Sender". The reverse of the envelope is postmarked DIRECTORY SEP 11 1944 SEO, FT.

The envelope is unopened and has been sealed since it was sent in June of 1944.
66th ARMORED REGIMENT 1944
The 66th Armored Regiment departed New York on December 11th 1942 and landed in North Africa on
December 25th 1942. The regiment assaulted Licata Sicily on July 10th 1943 and was sent to England on
November 25th 1943. On June 9th 1944, the regiment landed at Normandy France, crossed into Belgium on
September 2nd and into Holland on September 16th 1944. On September 19th the 66th Armored Regiment
entered Germany and returned to Belgium on December 22nd 1944.
Lieutenant Leroy Price was killed in action during this period.
