The 64th Bomb Squadron operated from Australia from March 1942 through November 1942. From January 1943 until March 1944 the squadron operated out of New Guinea. In July 1944 the 64th moved to the Netherlands East Indies and relocated again to the Philippines in March of 1945. During the closing days of World War Two, in July 1945 the squadron flew from Okinawa. Victory over Japan was declared on August 14th 1945. 1st Lieutenant Charles R. Crowell is listed as Missing in Action on January 7th 1946 while the 64th Bomb Squadron served in Luzon. |
