German WWII "Pill Box", Glyfada, Greece |
In 2004, QuestMasters conducted WWII archaeological work in the town of Glyfada, Greece. This town lies 4 miles south of Athens, Greece. This German "Pill Box" fighting position was constructed during WWII for a German machine-gun crew, with 360 degrees of coverage. The "Pill Box" protrudes roughly 3 feet above the ground, with the crew/standing area below ground. The rear part of the "Pill Box" has been destroyed and the center fighting position filled-in with concrete after WWII. |
