On October 13th, 1944 B-24J 42-78647 was piloted by Captain Kenneth R. Elliott and took off with her crew from Castelluccio, Italy. This aircraft was assigned to the 724th Bomb Squadron (H), 451st Bomb Group (H), 15th Air Force. The target was Bombing Mission 134: Ostereichische Motor Works, Vienna Austria.
